Ever heard the term AEB or Autonomous Emergency Braking? We’re here to give you the inside word from a Honda perspective.
Autonomous Emergency Braking, (AEB) or the Honda equivalent - Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) - uses both a radar and camera, and applies strong braking pressure if an accident becomes unavoidable. But before CMBS kicks in, Forward Collision Warning works to give visual and audible alerts to bring the driver’s attention back to the road.
If a collision becomes unavoidable, the Collision Mitigation Braking System will automatically apply strong braking in order to help protect occupants. It’s designed to reduce the likelihood or severity of a frontal impact.
