Honda Australia proudly supported the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (ASO) this year by providing them with a Honda ZR-V, medium-sized SUV.
This vehicle was proudly on display at the entrance of Adelaide Symphony Orchestra’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in Concert in August.
The Honda ZR-V accompanied many talented artists and guests on the night of the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Concert at Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Over 7,000 audience members enjoyed the performance on the big screen with the full Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (ASO) playing live.
As South Australia’s largest arts organisation, over 40,000 people attend ASO performances live every year. From concerts in the CBD to regional schools, the orchestra performs across the state, in style thanks to the Honda ZR-V.
The Honda ZR-V is Honda Australia’s first brand-new model to be introduced into the Australian market in over 20 years. This partnership is an opportunity to support the local performing arts industry through the ASO and to share the Honda joy with the talented performers and guests attending the events.
From regional tours to hosting guest conductors within the Barossa wine region, the ASO’s Honda ZR-V has had an eventful year. With an array of international guest stars being welcomed to Adelaide, the airport has been the Honda ZR-V’s most frequently visited destination, ferrying some very precious cargo including a million-dollar violin made in 1753.
Outside of Adelaide, Port Pirie, Gawler, Crystal Brook, Koolunga and Peterborough were among the regional communities welcoming the orchestra to their local schools, community centres, town halls and theatres.
“The smooth ride and comfortable interior ensured the Honda ZR-V was a welcome introduction to Adelaide for our international and interstate conductors and soloists” said Colin Cornish AM, Chief Executive Officer.
“After a long flight and arrival into a new place, the comfort and quietness of the ZR-V provided a welcome journey to and from rehearsals, concerts and media opportunities. For our concerts outside CBD it was invaluable to be able to arrive at rehearsals and performances refreshed and the sound system was fantastic for listening to music on the drive.”
The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra played alongside a wide variety of musicians, from classical stars like Emily Sun to a ‘Citizen’s Orchestra’ of 526 amateur musicians, ‘The Songbirds’ women’s prison choir and pop legends The Cat Empire, Electric Fields and Dan Sultan.
Colin added “Honda’s help is hugely appreciated by the ASO. With artists and instruments moving from rehearsals to performance spaces across the state, smooth, reliable transport is key”.
